Timmermans Garden Centre News

Child of Mine Book Cover

Book Signing with Jessica Meats

Jessica Meats, author of ‘Child of the Hive’ and ‘Omega Rising’, will be joining us on Saturday 10th August from 10am to 2pm to offer book signings.  She will be presenting readings from her novels from 2-3pm with an opportunity to ask questions.

Her first novel ‘Child of the Hive’ , is set in a Britain of the near future, and is both a tense sci-fi thriller and a gripping philosophical exploration of what it means to be human in a world of ever-increasing technological sophistication. An unputdownable read.

In her latest novel ‘Omega Rising’, Jenny Harding has no money, no qualifications and no career history. A job working security for a big tech firm seems too good to be true. Maybe it is. She is tasked with hunting down a group of thieves who have been stealing sensitive technology. Caught up in a battle involving alien forces, Jenny has some important questions to answer: Who are the thieves? What’s their real purpose? And is she on the right side?

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet with a renowed and respected author.

FREE Seeds for Schools

FREE Seeds for Local Schools – Encouraging Gardening in Schools

At Timmermans Garden Centre we would love to encourage young people to get engaged with gardening across Nottinghamshire. To help make this happen we are offering FREE packs of seeds to local Schools, Nurseries, Pre-Schools, and Children’s Centres who would really love to help their youngsters get excited about gardening and want to get stuck into growing their own plants, flowers and vegetables.

We have a wide selection of vegetable and flower seeds available so to obtain your FREE packets of seeds all you have to do is collect them from our garden centre and bring something to identify which school you are from for verification purposes, such as an acknowledgement on letterheaded paper. We will then simply hand them over to you.

We’d love to get news and images of young people getting involved in planting and growing their new seeds so that we can post these onto our website and Facebook page to encourage others to do the same. We would be delighted if you could stay in touch with us to let us know how you are progressing and maybe send in a few photos! Our knowledgeable staff are always on hand with gardening advice too if you need any assistance.

Please contact Jo Shepherd at Timmermans Garden Centre on 0115 966 4033 or email jo@timmermansgardencentre.com if you have any queries. The seed packets will be available on a first come first served basis.

We look forward to welcoming you at Timmermans soon and giving you your FREE seed packets!
